Hey there, I’m Vinnie, and I love to travel. To travel my way – away from tour groups and cruise ships and starred hotels. It’s at this level of simplicity that you can really achieve cultural immersion. I want to explore places deeply, learn the language of the country, and celebrate the wonderful people I meet. I’m always looking for the strange and the surprising! I love to be amazed and want to share these discoveries with you.

This blog is a way for me to share my experiences and observations of my travels. From crunching on silk worm cocoons in China to trekking the jungles of Borneo, my adventures should have something to entertain everyone.

I love to explore the world. It’s a passion to not only be a spectator in genuine traditions but an active participant in a new culture. In a world where everything is becoming more and more homogenized, I seek the untouched and hope to help preserve the authentic. Growing up in different countries and speaking different languages, I came to value the uniqueness of each place on earth. I want to share this treasure with you!

What brings me joy? Cultural immersion, learning languages, pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I like to write about my observations on these topics, from a first-person perspective.

So far, I’ve traveled extensively through China and Europe. I’ve also spent half a year traveling around Indonesia and Malaysia. Besides English, I speak fluent German, and advanced Mandarin and Spanish. I’m learning French, Bahasa, and Japanese right now as well. I want to expand my cultural insight into as many countries as possible!
